Do you ever wonder why they’re so perfect? Have you ever compared yourself to a model or celebrity on television? These are normal thoughts that go through a young woman’s mind. Throughout the years young girls have tried to become something or someone that might have not even been real. Through technology today the world has found ways to make celebrities and models look perfect. To our society this is the perfect woman, no curves, no blemishes, no wrinkles, perfect skin, tall, skinny, etc. We’re being sold an idea of being beautiful we aren’t given an option to what else can be beauty like we’re supposed to fit this mold that we’re given. Women need to know the truth. Most of you might say what is the truth? Well the truth is that women in magazines and on TV are not perfect. Many of these women are fixed so they look perfect using technology like Photoshop. Photoshop is a program that can edit an image using computer program. It takes away every little imperfection that the person might have. This is what makes them look perfect. We can even do it to our own pictures to look perfect. In my opinion I think girls sometimes let the media get the best of them. Instead of sometimes pushing it to the side they let it affect them too much. I completely understand how they feel but if girls had more self-esteem they’d be more comfortable in their own skin. At times I do think that we all are kind of insecure at one point, especially after looking at certain magazines and TV shows, or movies. The media has changed a lot over the years but for the worse. In the past we all ran to it for things we could relate to and advice we trusted. These days it’s the total opposite. Now the reason people have turned to the media is how to turn they’re “flab into fab” or what’s in style. At times we all look through magazines to see what is in style but not really for styles but what clothes make you look skinnier or how to ‘hide those curves.” We are all different woman, with curves to make us all different people. We should all be proud of our curves because in its own way it’s what makes us who we are. It changes how people will accept us by looks or personality. Once someone breaks that border of respect and tells you you’re weird because you are not perfect, immediately just look at them and walk away because not being perfect is the best thing in the world. |
